Jail time for those who defaulted on car payments meant many Ferrari, McLarens and other cars just got left by the side of the road, though that's now beginning to change
Dubai is home to one of the largest luxury vehicle scrapyards in the world, filled with supercars from the likes of Ferrari, Lamborghini, and McLaren, and it’s about to get a whole slew more vehicles coming in as the country vows to crack down on abandoned cars while also relaxing laws regarding those who abandon them in the first place, Car Advice reports.
Up until now, if you failed to pay a loan in Dubai, you were at risk of jail time. Those who couldn’t afford the repayments on their supercars and luxury vehicles would simply flee the country and leave their vehicles abandoned.
