The Easter Jeep Safari is coming up next week, running from March 27 to April 4 in Moab, Utah. On top of being an off-road enthusiast’s dream, Jeep also tends to float ideas and concepts here to see how well they stick with the brand’s most ardent followers.

These typically involve things like overlanding concepts or retro-inspired colour schemes, which are fun but not necessarily game-changing. However, there’s a concept being shown at this year’s Safari that’s potentially at the make-or-break level: the Jeep Magneto, a concept for a fully battery-electric Wrangler.

This concept picks up where the Wrangler 4xe plug-in hybrid leaves off and dives head-first into full electrification, with the intention of proving the technology in Utah’s extreme environment while gauging interest and reaction from Safari attendees.
