In the 1960s, Chrysler was at its peak and had lots of money to try out new and experimental technology. One of the things they tried was a gasoline-turbine powered vehicle, creating fifty-five working prototypes.

The tech proved to be too experimental and expensive, however, and almost every example of the Turbine was crushed, infamously documented in one of the most brutal car destruction videos ever made. Just nine vehicles escaped the fate of the claw, and this one up for sale on Hemmings is one of them.

The vehicle was previously owned by renowned car collector Frank Kleptz, who purchased it in the late 80s from Domino’s Pizza founder Tom Monaghan. Kleptz also acquired a few spare engines along with the deal, and was able to get the car back to a running state, which it is currently in.
