What do the Chicago, Detroit, Geneva, Los Angeles, New York, and Paris auto shows all have in common? They were canceled this year. For several months, a significant portion of automotive production and culture ground to a halt. But the lights are going green in some parts of the world. In China, the Beijing auto show actually happened and saw the debuts of a lot of luxury cars and some knockoffs. Electric vehicles were the center of this year's show. It appears China wants long-range luxury SUVs, too. Here's the interesting stuff from the 2020 Beijing auto show.

Buick Electra


Buick's big debut in Beijing was the Electra. It's a fully electric SUV with 583 horsepower and a claimed range of 410 miles. It uses GM's new Ultium electric powertrain, the same one planned for the GMC Hummer and already in use for the upcoming Cadillac Lyriq.
