Canadian National railways has announced a deal to buy 50 Canadian-built electric trucks for local deliveries. The trucks will handle transport between large-market Canadian cities such as Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver.

The company supplying the trucks is Quebec-based Lion Electric, according to Jean-Jacques Ruest, President and CEO of CN, who made the announcement via a press conference in Montreal.

The trucks will “reduce greenhouse gas emissions, but also noise pollution. Trucks, let’s face it, are a little noisy,” he said.
