Mercedes-AMG is serious about bring Formula One technology to the street, something it made evident when it revealed its race-car-like ‘One’ hypercar. Now, Mercedes is taking more of its F1 research from the track to the street.
Mercedes has been using electric turbocharging on its F1 cars for a few years now, and is confident it will be able to implement it on road cars. Specifically, it thinks there’s a home for them in vehicles fitted with the company’s M139 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine — which if you’ll remember, is already the most powerful production four-cylinder ever built.
